Reverse Engrosser’s is a display typeface that reimagines Engrosser’s Script using the same oblique pointed-pen tool, but with a modern twist. It flips the classic script by reversing the expansion degree of the traditional 55-degree angle to 235 degrees.

Inspired by lettering from the local 20th century vernacular hand-drawn design and with a hint of Art Deco influence, the variable typeface, Futuristic Nostalgia, explores new interpretation of familiar urban geographies of my hometown Shanghai in letterforms.

Common Ferns is a revival typeface inspired by the metal type in the book How to Know the Ferns by Frances Theodora Parsons, published in 1902 in New York City by Charles Scribner's Sons. The typeface follows an expansion-contrast model and reinterprets the original printed forms through carefully softened stroke junctions.
